Siemens / ITE Circuit Breaker Cross-Reference

Siemens (and its ITE heritage) has retired several molded-case frames — the ED / HED E-frame, the BQD bolt-on branch line, and the JD / JXD J-frame among them. The modern path is the current Siemens molded-case line (VL / SED-class) selected by amp and interrupting rating. For every frame, Edmundson Industrial sources new-surplus, used-tested, and reconditioned breakers so you can drop in the original or retrofit to current.

Legacy frame → modern replacement

Amp ranges are nominal — the catalog number encodes poles, voltage, amp rating, and interrupting class. Confirm against the nameplate before substituting.

Reading a Siemens / ITE catalog number

Siemens / ITE numbers use a frame code (ED, HED, JD, JXD, BQD…) followed by digits for poles, voltage class, and amp rating. The H and X variants (HED, JXD) denote higher-interrupting versions of the base frame — match or exceed the original interrupting rating, not just the amp rating.

Demand lives on the surplus market

Siemens / ITE industrial numbers like ED43B100, HED43B100, JXD63B250, and BQD220 are low-volume on Google but high-intent, with steady secondary-market liquidity. For obsolete Siemens breakers, availability is the real demand signal — we compete on stock and sourcing speed.

Drop-in original or retrofit?

A surplus ED, JD, or BQD original keeps the panel as-built; a current Siemens frame is the long-term path. When the footprint or mounting changes, our fabrication side makes adapter and filler hardware so the replacement fits the legacy opening — part and panel on one PO.

FAQ

Are Siemens / ITE breakers like ED and BQD obsolete?
Several legacy ITE / Siemens frames (ED / HED, JD / JXD, BQD, Sentron) are mature or discontinued. New-surplus, used-tested, and reconditioned units remain available through Edmundson Industrial.
What replaces a Siemens ED or JD breaker?
Current Siemens molded-case frames by amp and interrupting rating. We also source the original ED / JD surplus to keep a panel as-built.
Can you source ED43B100 or JXD63B250?
Yes — these are common Siemens / ITE industrial catalog numbers. Send the exact string and we'll quote new-surplus, used-tested, or reconditioned with condition disclosed.
Do you handle both ITE and Siemens branding?
Yes — ITE became Siemens and the catalog lineage is shared. We source and cross-reference both.
Will a current Siemens breaker fit my old panel?
Often, but confirm frame and mounting. Our fabrication side makes adapter hardware where the footprint changed.
