Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
A variable frequency drive (VFD) controls a motor's speed and torque by varying the frequency and voltage it sees. Edmundson Industrial sources VFDs across the lines listed here: Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, ABB ACS, Yaskawa, Siemens, Eaton, Danfoss, and Schneider Altivar, in new-surplus, used-tested, and sourced-to-order condition. Whether you need a current PowerFlex 525 today or a long-obsolete drive to keep a line running, send the catalog number off the nameplate and we'll quote availability, condition, and lead time.
Current-production drives we source
| Brand | Common current lines | Pages |
|---|---|---|
| Allen-Bradley PowerFlex | 525, 523, 753, 755 (750-series) | PowerFlex 525 →753 / 755 →523 → |
| ABB | ACS580, ACS880, ACS380 | ABB ACS → |
| Yaskawa | GA800, GA500, FP605 | Yaskawa → |
| Siemens | Sinamics G120, G120C, V20 | Siemens G120 → |
| Eaton | PowerXL DG1, DH1, DM1 | Eaton PowerXL → |

Obsolete & legacy drives
Drive no longer made? We cross-reference it to the modern replacement and source the original as surplus. See the legacy guides: PowerFlex 70, PowerFlex 40, PowerFlex 4 / 400, PowerFlex 700 / 700S, 1336 / 1305, and SCR & DC drive systems.
How do we quote a VFD?
- Send the catalog number off the drive nameplate, or the motor horsepower and voltage if you don't have one.
- We confirm the configuration: voltage class, HP / current, enclosure, and communication option.
- We quote condition, price, and lead time: new-surplus, used-tested, or sourced-to-order, timing confirmed with the request.
- If the replacement changes the panel, our fabrication side supplies adapter plates, sub-panels, and modified enclosures so the new drive mounts where the old one came out.
VFD by horsepower & voltage
We source drives from fractional horsepower through 1000+ HP, across 120 V, 200/240 V, 480 V, and 600 V low-voltage classes and medium-voltage ratings. If you don't have a catalog number, send the motor HP, voltage, and application and we'll match a drive.
Condition & sourcing
Every drive is supplied as new-surplus (unused, from the secondary market), used-tested, or sourced-to-order, with condition disclosed before sale and photos on request. We are an independent surplus and sourcing company, not an authorized distributor.
