Siemens SINAMICS Variable Frequency Drives
Edmundson Industrial sources Siemens SINAMICS variable frequency drives across the current and obsolete lineup: the modular G120, the compact G120C, the basic V20, and the discontinued MICROMASTER drives still running in plants. A SINAMICS G120 is built from two matched parts: a Control Unit (for example a CU240E-2) and a Power Module (for example a PM240-2), so send both order numbers, or the motor data, and we match the set.
Current-production Siemens drives we source
| Line | Application | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| SINAMICS G120 | Modular general purpose | Control Unit plus Power Module (CU240/CU250 + PM240-2) |
| SINAMICS G120C | Compact | All-in-one drive with MICROMASTER 420/440 footprint migration |
| SINAMICS V20 | Basic / micro | Simple machine, pump, and fan duty: replaces SINAMICS G110 |
| SINAMICS G115D | Distributed | Wall- and motor-mount distributed drive |
| SINAMICS G130 / G150 | Chassis / cabinet | Higher-power chassis and cabinet drives |
What replaces obsolete and legacy Siemens drives?
Cross-references are starting points. The G120 is modular and the MICROMASTER is not, so a migration usually means matching a Control Unit and Power Module to the old single unit: verify against the nameplate. We also source the original drive as surplus.
| Legacy drive | Status | Typical current replacement |
|---|---|---|
| MICROMASTER 440 (MM440) | Discontinued | SINAMICS G120 / G120C |
| MICROMASTER 420 (MM420) | Discontinued | SINAMICS G120C / V20 |
| MICROMASTER 430 (MM430) | Discontinued | SINAMICS G120P (pump/fan) / G120 |
| SINAMICS G110 | Obsolete | SINAMICS V20 |
| MICROMASTER 411 / older | Obsolete | SINAMICS V20 / G120C |
How do you read a Siemens SINAMICS order number?
Siemens drives use 6SL3 order numbers. A G120 Power Module reads like 6SL3210-1PE… and its Control Unit like 6SL3244-…. Because the G120 is modular, the Control Unit and Power Module each carry their own order number: send both. For MICROMASTER, the 6SE6 number identifies the frame and rating.
How do we quote a Siemens drive?
- Send the Siemens order number(s): for a G120 send both the Control Unit and Power Module 6SL3 numbers; for a MICROMASTER send the 6SE6 number, or the motor HP and voltage.
- We confirm the configuration: voltage class, HP / current, enclosure, and options (I/O, fieldbus, and control).
- We quote condition, price, and lead time: new-surplus, used-tested, or sourced-to-order, timing confirmed with the request.
- If the replacement changes the footprint or wiring, our fabrication side supplies adapter plates, sub-panels, and modified enclosures so the new drive mounts where the old one came out.
Condition & sourcing
Every Siemens drive is supplied as new-surplus (unused, from the secondary market), used-tested, or sourced-to-order, with condition disclosed before sale and photos on request. We are an independent surplus and sourcing company, not an authorized distributor.
